Last night something very special happened in Sydney and today there is a band called The National who should be so damn proud of themselves. This is a band who (and still too many) deemed never to scale the dizzy heights of stadium and popularity, last night serenade and army of 1000’s upon 1000’s of new and old onlookers with the iconic Sydney Opera House standing over like Big Brother. This was a moment that The National finally proved their musical relevance.
Whether you consider the band to be one of doom and gloom, you are somewhat mistaken. I urge you to take the time to really listen in and understand what these guys do so well and soon you’ll realise the reason they did what they did last night.
